VLO representatives participated in a franchising seminar organized by the US Embassy in Sofia and the Embassy’s Department of Commerce. At the seminar, Mr. Le Sante, the Vice President of the American Association of Franchising, gave a remarkable presentation. The franchise experiences of McDonalds Bulgaria, Century 21 Bulgaria and Curves Bulgaria were given as examples of successful entry of the Bulgarian market

The senior partners of VLO were invited to a cocktail party to celebrate the German National Holiday, Unification Day (October 3^rd). The party took place in the garden of the German Embassy in Sofia. The participants included representatives of the Parliament, Government, and the business sectors. The celebration was exceptionally festive since this year also marks 20 years since the fall of the Berlin Wall.

VLO representatives had the honor to be invited to the German Embassy in Bulgaria by the Honorable Ambassador of Germany, Mr. Höpfner. The purpose of this gathering was to receive the first official results of the parliamentary election in Germany together and to participate in the so-called “Elefantenrunde”. Members of the press, sociologists, political analysts and representatives of the German population in Bulgaria were also present.

British Expertise and the UK Trade and Investment at the British Embassy Sofia with the co-operation of the Ministry of Transport invited Mr. Vl.Vladimirov and Mrs.Sv.Irasek to a seminar“The British Capability in Ports Construction and Development” at Triaditza hall at Grand hotel Sofia on 4th November 2008 .

Seminar Programme: Mr Peter Roome, Halcrow, told about the Feasibility studies and design of port extensions and container terminals;

Mr. Rod Hilditch, Focal-earth: about integrated transport and sea motorways. It was very useful to discuss with Mr.Andrew Symms, Partner at the legal firm Eversheds legal issues and experience relating to UK International Ports Projects, as well as International Forms of contract, particularly FIDIC new Government Book and DBO solution with Mr. Tim Reynolds,TLT Solicitors.

Mr.Vladimirov took part in the 2-nd International Black Sea Volunteers SAR conference in VARNA 29-30 Oct. 2008 under the patronage of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria Mr. IVAYLO KALFIN.

The British Embassy had the first ever trade mission to Bulgaria from Northern Ireland in June – a further sign of the growing interest among British companies in the Bulgarian market. Mr Steve Williams, Her Majesty's Ambassador to Bulgaria, gave a reception at his residence. Mrs. Svetlana Irasek took part in the reception as a representative of Vladimirov Law Office and the Bulgarian Franchise Association.
