British Expertise and the UK Trade and Investment at the British Embassy Sofia with the co-operation of the Ministry of Transport invited Mr. Vl.Vladimirov and Mrs.Sv.Irasek to a seminar“The British Capability in Ports Construction and Development” at Triaditza hall at Grand hotel Sofia on 4th November 2008 .

Seminar Programme: Mr Peter Roome, Halcrow, told about the Feasibility studies and design of port extensions and container terminals;

Mr. Rod Hilditch, Focal-earth: about integrated transport and sea motorways. It was very useful to discuss with Mr.Andrew Symms, Partner at the legal firm Eversheds legal issues and experience relating to UK International Ports Projects, as well as International Forms of contract, particularly FIDIC new Government Book and DBO solution with Mr. Tim Reynolds,TLT Solicitors.

We took part in reception hosted by the British Ambassador Steve Williams.

Mr.Vladimirov took part in the 2-nd International Black Sea Volunteers SAR conference in VARNA 29-30 Oct. 2008 under the patronage of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria Mr. IVAYLO KALFIN.

TECHNICAL SESSIONS: „Maritime SAR" , „Safety, security and ecology of the sea region", "Law enforcement and settlement of disputes in safety, security, marine tourism and ecology"

The British Embassy had the first ever trade mission to Bulgaria from Northern Ireland in June – a further sign of the growing interest among British companies in the Bulgarian market. Mr Steve Williams, Her Majesty's Ambassador to Bulgaria, gave a reception at his residence. Mrs. Svetlana Irasek took part in the reception as a representative of Vladimirov Law Office and the Bulgarian Franchise Association.

We are looking for an intern to work within the VLO team.
The placement will initially be for a 3 month period, working in our Sofia office. Our internship is designed to enable you to really feel a part of our firm and get a genuine insight into what it is like to work with us.

Overview: The successful candidate will be given a number of projects to work through during their time here, as well as assisting with day-to-day and ad hoc tasks. The candidate will work with the VLO team. A brief list of duties is given below:
• Communications management to include reporting on local VLO projects, interviewing volunteer participants and updating Internet site
• Project manage the delivery of an international initiative, establishing timelines and milestones, and assisting with developing a communication strategy
• Assist with various administrative tasks
• Undertake research and support projects, as needed
Skills: This position requires someone with a well-rounded skills set. The successful candidate will need to be enthusiastic, have an eye for detail, and be able to develop relationships with a wide variety of people. Specifically, we will be looking for:
• responsible and self-motivated law students who have just finished their third or fourth years of law school
• excellent organizational skills including an ability to prioritize
• strong oral and written communication skills
• Excellent command of written and spoken English;
• Knowledge of German language is considered an advantage;
• a strong sense of initiative and the ability to manage a project from conception to completion with minimal supervision
• good research skills

Our Senior Partner, Mrs. Svetlana Irasek, has attended the Union Internationale des Avocats Seminar “Cross-Border Agency, Distribution and Franchising Agreements in Practice: Business Strategies and Legal Aspects”
As a founder and member of the Bulgarian Franchise Association she acquainted the participants with the development of the franchising in Bulgaria.
